The Annual "Elvis Run" has always been held on the 2nd Sunday in September. The "Elvis Run" is a 40 mile plus+ / Firefighter and Police escorted ride, with an amazing amount of fire apparatus along the ride route cheering on the 3000 plus motorcyclists. The "Elvis Run" is not only in memory of Firefighter Mike "Elvis" Delane, but in memory as well of the many Firefighters around our country that have made the ultimate sacrifice, and ALL those whom perished on 9-11-01.
September 11th, Memorial
In Memory - Never Forgotten
On the Return to Chicago / Westbound: Many riders choose to return at different times, and you will most likely have no problem traveling back with a small group or so that you have met from the ride and many do. New York City is about a 12 to 14 hour ride directly home and we have odometered it at 825 miles via I-80 from "Times Square" to "Old St. Pat's Church" at Des Plaines and Adams ave in Chicago's loop area. We recommend an easy 2 day ride home - why push it. And return Hotel bookings are usually not necessary with many along the way via I-80 directly to Chicago.
